How do you use wall sconces?
- - Wall sconces can be used in various ways depending on the room and the desired effect. They can be installed in the hallway, stairway, bathroom, bedroom/bedside, dining room, living room, entry, flanking a fireplace, or in the basement. When selecting a bathroom sconce for vanity lighting, for instance, you should consider the size of the mirror. What is the best placement of wall sconces?
- - The best placement of wall sconces depends on the room and the purpose of the lighting. In general, wall sconce height should be at about eye level, typically 60" to 70" from the ground. If you are mounting wall sconces on each side of your mirror, you should mount them with the center of the fixtures about 60" high and about 28" apart. If you are mounting a bath bar above the mirror, it should be mounted about 78" high. These are generally-accepted measures. However, always consider the lumen output and the layout of your walls with door frames, corners, furniture, etc. when deciding on the placement.
